Presentations

Three presentations, three different audiences

Different team members give each presentation, and each one has its own aim: convince an investor, sell to the customer, and help a newly joined engineer understand the project.

0:00

The green band is the target time. You hear one beep when you enter it and another when you go over.

1. Elevator pitch

Week 2 · one person · 2 minutes (aim for 1:55 to 2:05).

  • Clear, realistic and impactful goals.
  • Why they matter to an investor in today's economy.
  • Product, business model, market and competitors, with concrete facts.
  • A clear, natural voice, confidence and energy. No overacting: be yourself.

Structure in 2 minutes: the problem (20 s) · the solution (30 s) · why now and for whom (25 s) · competitors and difference (25 s) · business model and the ask (20 s)

Graded on message (does the vision come across?) and appeal (does it hook?).

2. Customer presentation

Week 4 · two people (not the pitcher) · 10-15 minutes. The goal is to sell the product directly to potential customers.

  • Key insights from the market analysis: show you understand what they need and who you compete with.
  • Relevant, high-quality mock-ups that help picture the features and their benefits.
  • Fully consistent with the Fag-2 documents.

Graded on the message, showing business value, being engaging and matching the documents.

3. Final presentation + demo

16 December · the rest of the team · about 20 minutes of presentation, 10 of demo and 25 of questions from the two grading teachers.

  • Designed as the onboarding of a new engineer: methodological and technical aspects.
  • A live demo on the classroom screen, by one or two people (two is better if there are features like a chat).
  • Show the key, highest-value features; very basic ones can be skipped.
  • Use a realistic dataset, not an empty database (you can create, edit and delete during the demo).
  • Anything unfinished or untested: explain it instead of showing it.
  • Prepare and rehearse it: no improvising.
